Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash: 15-second videos and conversational edits

Google announced the update on November 5. We examine duration limits by mode, 720p pricing and a product-video review workflow. Quality claims come from the developer; VIZURAI availability is not announced.

A short advertisement needs more than an attractive opening frame. The product, character and purpose of the scene must survive until the last frame. Google's November 5 announcement addresses that production problem: Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash supports longer clips and further edits to an existing video.

What Google announced

The announcement describes clips up to 15 seconds, conversational edits and improved adherence to references. Google states a 30% price reduction from Omni 1.1, with 720p priced at $0.07 per second. These are Google's prices, not VIZURAI rates. Quality improvements are the developer's claims; our editorial team has not independently tested the model.

For an editor, the useful idea is to treat a short clip as a working version. A follow-up request can ask for a change rather than require a completely new brief. Every revision still needs checking against the original production requirements.

Limits depend on the operation

Current Google documentation specifies 3–15 seconds for ordinary generation and editing, but only 3–10 seconds when using first and last frames. Extension also adds 3–10 seconds. The headline maximum therefore does not apply to every workflow.

The documentation allows up to ten image references and lists 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios. Listed resolutions include 360p, 720p, 1080p and 4K. Check the parameters of the particular route before ordering a final render: a resolution appearing in a model specification does not imply identical settings or pricing across operations.

Editorial example: one product, two versions

Consider a hypothetical brief showing a desk lamp in daytime and evening interiors. Gather product photos first, then identify the details that must stay fixed: the shade shape, switch and seam position. Describe one scene and one camera movement. This is easier to evaluate than several unrelated actions squeezed into a single request.

Review the complete draft before asking to change only the lighting. Compare the versions side by side: did the lamp retain its proportions, construction details and movement? If the lighting improved but the product changed, the edit has failed the brief, even if the new image is more striking. This is an editorial recommendation, not a report of a generation we performed.

How to judge the finished scene

  • Watch the beginning, middle and end at normal speed, then pause around suspected faults.
  • Check packaging text and product geometry after camera movement.
  • Make sure the clip leaves enough time for the intended action and closing message.
  • Keep the original brief and revision notes when comparing versions; otherwise it is difficult to identify which change helped.

A longer clip is useful when it survives the edit. Extra seconds cannot compensate for a changed logo or an unfinished action. Review in the context of the eventual cut, including the shots immediately before and after it.

Availability and the next step

Google announced the release across its products and API; availability for a particular account should be checked with the provider. This article does not announce a Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash integration in VIZURAI. The button below opens the video studio; consult its current catalog for available models and the actual cost estimate.
